Joseph Bonhage Grand Knight

September 10, 2019

Dear Brother Knights,

I am writing to you to bring to your attention several upcoming events.

First, is the installation of council officers. Officers for the fraternal year 2019 -2020 will be installed at 11:00 Mass on September 22. Please plan to attend to show your support of our council and its officers. Following the mass will be our annual indoor picnic. Please see this week’s parish bulletin for more details.

Second, is our "Crab Feed" that we are hosting along with the Amvets. It will take place at the Amvets facility on 5th avenue on September 28th. We are encouraging all brothers to support this event. Tickets are available after all the weekend Masses or by mail. The menu features AYCE crabs and beer. For those that would prefer something other than crabs, there will also be chicken, hot dogs, chips, soft drinks, etc. Small games of chance will be available. This event will help us to raise much needed funds for maintenance and repair of the Garfield Street Hall. The cost is $40.00 per person. To obtain tickets or for further information, please call the hall at 717-264-1666. You may also contact Mike Krugh at 717-263-0065 (leave message) krugh1@comcast.net. Mike is currently serving as interim manager of the hall.

Third, is a workday to do some cleaning and organizing of the kitchen and hallway outside of the kitchen at the hall. If you are available, please come to the hall at 9:00 am on Wednesday, October 2. We plan to finish by noon. Please let Mike Krugh know if you are planning to come. (see contact information above)

The last event that I would like to highlight is our annual "Knight of Honors" dinner. On October 5, we will gather at the hall to recognize all the members of the Knights of Columbus and our Columbian Ladies for their unselfish unity, charity fraternity and patriotism. We also pay tribute to our deceased members of both organizations. Doors open at 5:00PM. Dinner will be served at 7:00PM, followed by recognitions at 7:30 and dance at 8:30PM. The Point of Contact (POC) for additional information is Eugene Rideout at 717-446-3307 or email: hawk17201@embarqmail.com.

Sincerely,

Joseph Bonhage Grand Knight Vivat Jesus!
